About the event

This course being delivered in conjunction with IPEC, and is designed for individuals where the candidate requires access or to work in the proximity of High Voltage Electrical Equipment. Over 80% of all disruptive failures in HV substations can be traced back to partial discharge (PD). This course teaches the principles of PD and how to monitor it.

Course content:

  • Classroom - Partial Discharge Theory
  • Basic understanding of why PD occurs
  • How to detect PD in HV assets
  • Type of PD monitoring equipment and key features to be aware of
  • Practical element - Monitoring for Partial Discharge in a substation

This course is designed for individuals who will be required to work in the proximity of High Voltage Electrial Equipment. The Candidate may be either electrically trained or non-electrical. The course will have a theory assessment. The theoretical element will be an online exam accessible through our IT Suite.

Course duration: 1 day

Course cost: £450.00 plus VAT
